Assumptions
- Documents use recognizable, internally consistent delimiters.
- Segments are aligned using a sequence diff; repeated similar segments can have multiple valid alignments.
Limitations
- The comparison is syntactic and does not judge business equivalence.
- Very large or heavily reordered documents may produce a less intuitive alignment.

Questions about document compare
Do different delimiters count as changes?
No. Each side is parsed with its own delimiters and compared by segment tags and element values.
Is whitespace ignored?
Whitespace around segment boundaries is ignored; whitespace inside an element remains significant.
