Assumptions
- Without UNA, standard UN/EDIFACT service characters are assumed.
- A release character escapes the immediately following service character.
Limitations
- The viewer does not validate a directory version or message implementation guideline.
- Binary or compressed interchange payloads must be decoded first.

Questions about edifact formatter
What happens if UNA is missing?
The formatter uses the standard defaults: plus for data elements, colon for components, question mark for release, and apostrophe for segments.
Are escaped apostrophes handled?
Yes. A segment terminator preceded by the active release character remains data.
